With a splash of colour, Stand up Week took off with a PowerPoint for all students. Junior classes made and coloured rainbow hands which were put on a colourful sheet to symbolise our students agreeing and standing up to homophobic bullying.
The aim of the week is to promote LGBTQ inclusivity and stand up against homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. Senior students completed a quiz on LGBTQ artists, celebrities and TV personalities. There were also crosswords, word searches and LGBTQ terminology posters around the school to help inform the students.
The poster competition was a big success with a high standard. The Student Council chose the winners of the competition - Eoin Meehan, Sean Fagan and Joe Peake. Well done to all and enjoy those one4all vouchers.
On the final day staff and students wore bright colours of the rainbow, brightening up the school. Congratulations to all involved and in particular Ms Duggan and the Stand up Committee for organising a wonderful Stand up Week.
