Eight athletes from Saint Aidan's are gearing up for the World Schools Cross Country Championships in Nairobi, Kenya this May. Last year's North Leinster Finals saw our athletes clinch second place, a testament to their determination and resilience. Undeterred by the setback, they rallied together, channeling their passion and commitment to secure the Leinster title - a remarkable feat that set the stage for greater triumphs to come.
Their journey continued to unfold as they ventured to County Waterford for the All-Ireland Finals last March. Against great competition, our athletes demonstrated their skills, emerging to claim the national championship.
The culmination of their remarkable journey awaits in Nairobi, Kenya, as our athletes prepare to showcase their talents. Selected to represent Ireland, they carry with them not only the hopes of a nation but also the pride of Saint Aidan's school - a beacon of excellence and sportsmanship.
In the lead-up to the championships, our athletes are sparing no effort in their preparation. Endless hours of rigorous training, unwavering discipline and determination, have been invested to ensure they are primed to compete at the highest level. Their commitment serves as a testament to their dedication and passion for their sport.
None of this would be possible without the constant support of our sponsors, particularly our main sponsor, Larkhill and District Credit Union. Their generosity is so appreciated. To all our supporters and to those who donated in any way, we extend our heartfelt thanks for standing by the boys every step of the way.
Best of luck to our eight athletes and their coaches Mr O’Neill & Mr Gleeson.
