First Years go on Tour

We left the school at 9am on the 2nd of May to celebrate the feast day of Blessed Edmund Rice, which took place the previous day.

At 11am we arrived at the Edmund Rice centre in Waterford City. On entering the chapel Br. Peader greeted us to explain the history of Edmund Rice. The First years took part in a reflection ceremony where a representative from each of the five First year classes spoke on their first year in St. Aidan's. Jack Burdis 1East played music.

Karl Maher made a presentation to Br. Peader from St. Aidan's as a token of our appreciation. The gift was a woodwork project from TY student Ciaran McManus. It is nice to know there is a piece of St. Aidan's on show in the Edmund Rice Centre.

We broke into groups to visit Edmunds grave, museum, and gardens at the centre.

Afterwards we headed for some Leisure time in Tramore for some fresh air and relaxation. A great day out, to finish a great year, in the lives of our First years.
