Well done to our athletes on their magnificent performanceson Friday 26th January- we have North Leinster and Leinster Champions in our midst.

One member of the team made it to the All Ireland Cross Country Championships in Waterford. Sean O’ Leary, the sixth year student, who was on form all year, showed what he was made of in the senior race. Sean managed to come an extremely commendable 2nd in the race, becoming the second best runner for his age in the country.

At the GloHealth All Ireland Cross-country finals Seán O’ Leary came 2nd in the Senior race. Seán will now have to choose between some of the finest universities in the world for his scholarship.

Overall it was a successful year, with the teams winning the Brother Schools Invitation, the All Ireland CBS CC, and the North Leinster title.

The teams attention now turns to track.

School Golf 2017/2018

Our senior golf team reached the Leinster Schools quarter final where they were defeated by defending champions Blackrock College in a very tight match.  This was the furthest any St. Aidan’s team have got in this competition in the school’s history so well done to Adam Duffy, Declan Roche, Tadhg Kellett, Alex Tyrrell and Dean Duffy on a very admirable achievement.  It is worth noting that during the qualifying stages Dean had the best score of all competitors in what was tough testing conditions recording a score of 2 over par in Balcarrick GC in 25kph winds.
